BRIAN RIORDAN joined BroadMap in November 2009 as a GIS Sourcing Specialist. In this role he is responsible for managing external and internal sourcing projects, which requires the management of different GIS types and 1000s of GB of data; designing internal data storage processes and formats; acting as the core technical link between broadband providers and the GIS Analysts; and performing root cause analysis on data gaps and bugs as they are discovered while editing.
Brian brings over 10 years of experience to BroadMap as well as expertise in remote sensing and landscape ecology studies. Previously he was a GIS Analyst II at Tele Atlas where he was responsible for generating detailed analyses and testing of GIS resources for integration into the Tele Atlas database; writing scripts in Python to automate file management; building geoprocessing models to improve workflow and productivity; and writing SQL code to gather statistics on database health and U.S.-wide parameters.
Brian holds a B.S. degree in Forest Management from Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR and an M.S. degree in Natural Resources Management (GIS/Remote Sensing) from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in Fairbanks, AK.
