The Complete Broadband Serviceability Mapping Solution

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), as a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), has developed the State Broadband Data and Development (SBDD) Grant Program to create and maintain a comprehensive, interactive and searchable inventory map of existing broadband serviceability in each of the U.S. States and Territories. In addition, this effort is being used by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to develop and maintain a national broadband coverage map.

MapConnect™ Broadband is a comprehensive GIS solution that:

  • Collects comprehensive and accurate serviceability data from Internet service providers across a State;
  • Creates reports and datasets that meet NTIA requirements;
  • Develops State-level base maps and broadband serviceability maps for web display;
  • Builds web applications, including web portals for community anchor institutions, policymakers and the public;
  • Hosts State websites for display of interactive broadband maps.

 

Gathering all required data, confirming the accuracy of that data and surveying additional sources at State, county and neighborhood levels are paramount in building a complete map. MapConnect™ Broadband takes care of the data collection and third-party verification, contributing to complete and accurate local and national broadband maps.
